Dr. Onoufrios Haralampous is an Associate Professor at the Department of Digital Systems, University of Thessaly since 2021. He specializes in modeling of heat and mass transport phenomena with applications in exhaust aftertreatment systems. He has been working for over 20 years on the development of research and commercial simulation tools and lately has extended his research interest to digital twins and environmental applications of digital systems. He received his PhD from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2005 and worked at the Laboratory of Applied Thermodynamics until 2007, whereupon he participated in the foundation of spinoff company Exothermia SA. Since 2010, he has been pursuing a career in academia and has served as a principal investigator in five research projects. He has coauthored more than 30 scientific papers in international journals and conferences in the field of exhaust after-treatment modeling, one of which has been selected by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) for the “Arch T. Colwell Merit Award”.
